Best Anime Games To Look Out For In 2023

It’s pretty fantastic to be an anime ps4 games enthusiast these days.

After binge-watching a whole season of your favorite anime, odds are you’ll want to recreate the show’s amazing escapades. And when you do it in the style of a video game, it generally becomes a reality.

Many of the most well-known anime franchises have high-quality adaptations of the best anime games. In a Musou beat ’em up, you may engage in fast-paced arena fighting, go adventuring, and battle adversaries in a turn-based/action RPG, or even eradicate hundreds of foes. Aside from the anime episodes you watch, some games use the characteristic graphical style of the Japanese media to appeal to anime enthusiasts.

If you have a Nintendo Switch and want to scratch that anime game itch, we sifted through the fluff to find all the jewels in the anime games world.

We selected 20 of the best anime games online where you can play with your favorite spiky-haired characters and perform the most insane special moves ever.

Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom

Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom

Developer: Level-5

Genre: Action RPG

Release Date: March 23, 2018

One of the fascinating aspects of the initial Ni No Kuni game was that Level-5 partnered with the famed Studio Ghibli on its concept and most of the animation.

Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom has no further cooperation with Studio Ghibli, although the graphical style remains faithful to the original while also using the PS4’s enhanced graphics capabilities.

You play as Roland, a guy who finds himself in the middle of a coup d’état after being lured into the “other world.” He must defend the usurped young king and assist him in reclaiming his throne.

The gameplay is enjoyable, but the primary draw is the graphic design. It is one of the most popular ps4 anime games on the PlayStation 4. It retains all of the Ghibli charm of its predecessor while keeping us wanting more.

Tales of Berseria

Tales of Berseria

Developer: Bandai Namco Studios

Genre: Action role-playing game

Release Date: August 18, 2016

The Tales games are among the most well-known anime rpg games ever made. Tales of Berseria is my favorite among these, as it has the series’ most refined battle mechanism. It’s one of the most intriguing PS4 anime games I’ve ever played.

You control the player’s attacks and special powers, similar to a hack-and-slash game, while AI controls the other characters in the group. There are more automatic possibilities, but this eliminates manually string combination inputs.

Velvet, a vengeance-driven demon who eventually helps save the world, is the primary protagonist in this story set in the Holy Midgang Empire.

Although the tale is darker, we find the JRPG setting to be a refreshing change of pace. A cast of stereotypical individuals joins her, but appealing characters teach her the value of friendship to compensate.

Because Tales of Berseria is a precursor to Tales of Zestiria, both game players may appreciate the Easter eggs and plot beats that connect the two games.

River City Girls

River City Girls

Developer: WayForward

Genre: Beat ’em up

Release Date: September 5, 2019

River City Girls is a beat ’em up RPG game that is one of the most popular anime girl games. You take on the role of Kyko or Misako, two delinquent females on a mission to save their boyfriends. Each of these characters has its own set of moves, so you may experiment with both to find which one you like. The game’s aesthetic is pixelated, giving it a vintage vibe. The most admirable aspect about this game is that it takes approximately 5-10 hours to complete.

As a result, you should be able to finish this game in a few sessions. Oh, and this game supports co-op, so if you have a friend around, you can easily play with two people.

My Hero One’s Justice

My Hero One’s Justice

Developer: Byking

Genre: Fighting

Release Date: April 13, 2018

The shōnen series has become increasingly famous among the free anime games in recent years, and it is now one of the most serialized manga series available. Of course, it already has anime, a film, and anime video games.

My Hero One’s Justice, while not the first series-based game, allows you to battle in a fighting arena with various characters.

In addition to juggling various offensive moves, each warrior’s playstyle is altered by oddities, distinguishing fighters mechanically. It portrays the anime’s aesthetics and spectacle incredibly well in terms of graphics.

Yu-Gi-Oh!

Yu-Gi-Oh!

Developer: Kazuki Takahashi

Genre: Adventure fiction, Science fantasy

Release Date: March 6, 1999

Yu-Gi-Oh, one of the most popular anime card games, is about bigots who frequently attack someone feeble and helpless, such as Yuugi Mutou. Anzu Mazaki, his gorgeous childhood friend, is always there to defend him, but he can’t rely on her indefinitely.

Despite continuously causing Yuugi problems, Katsuya Jonouchi, who is generally always accompanied by his verbal sparring partner Hiroto Honda, does not appear to be a horrible person. Yuugi’s greatest dream is for a good buddy who knows him and never betray him.

Yuugi is enamored with his Millennium Puzzle, an ancient Egyptian relic brought into his grandfather’s game business. He fulfills the challenge, believing that completing it will grant him his wish, releasing a new identity within him—the soul of the “King of Games.” The unique character Yami Yuugi is the polar opposite of Yuugi: dark, twisted, strong, and dependable.

It features all of our favorite characters from that universe; each displayed the show’s trademark skills. It’s also one of the most popular anime games on the PlayStation 4.

Full Body is a puzzle game crossed with a social sim from the same studio as Persona. The game was initially released on the PS3, but in 2019 it performed well enough to warrant a PS4 release and is now among the most played anime games for switch.
