16 Best Monitor For Ps5 In 2023

PlayStation 5 owners looking for the best gaming monitor for ps5 should have a display that is not only compatible with the console but can also use all the features of the PS5. The PS5 supports 4k content at up to 120fps with its HDMI 2.1 input, and while HDMI 2.1 monitors are becoming more and more popular, you can still find 4k@60Hz monitors with HDMI 2.0 support that is suitable for gaming. Unlike the Xbox Series X, the PS5 doesn’t support 1440p content, so if you don’t need 1080p at a higher refresh rate, the 4k option is a good choice.

Also, monitors typically have lower input lag than TVs. I bought a PS5, but I haven’t tested all monitors with the PS5 yet. These recommendations are based on expectations and specifications. We’ve tested over 210 monitors, and here are our recommendations for the best gaming monitor for ps5 you can buy. Also check out our recommendations on the best 4k monitors, the best PS4 monitors, and the best gaming monitor for ps5.

Aspect Ratio and Monitor Resolution

Resolution refers to the number of pixels on the screen, and higher resolutions provide a more detailed and smoother image. The PS5 offers two resolutions: standard HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) and higher 4K  (3840 x 2160 pixels). As expected, 4K monitors tend to be much more expensive than 1080p monitors because they are newer and more powerful.

In this PS5 FAQ, Sony says that the PS5 hardware can also run games at 8K, but not the current firmware. Meanwhile, there aren’t any PS5 games that can run at 8K yet, so I wouldn’t recommend spending thousands of dollars to stay ahead of the current pack.

Since most gaming monitors are made for PC gaming, there are other options as well. Many monitors offer resolutions of up to 1440p (2560 x 1440) pixels. There is also a growing number of ultra-wide monitors that differ from the usual “widescreen” 16:9 size used for most modern screens.  PS5 does not support 1440p. Each game can cause problems, but it can handle ultra-wide screens. In fact, if you’re buying a PS5-only monitor, you should stick with a standard widescreen monitor with a maximum resolution of  1080p or 4K.

Response Time

Response time measures the rate at which a pixel can change color. When measured in milliseconds (ms), gaming monitors typically run at less than 5 ms, with the best clock speed of 1 ms. Response time is closely related to the refresh rate, so the image doesn’t show ghosting or fade. So the lower the number, the better, especially in fast-paced games.

And thanks to the HDMI 2.0 interface, it’s fully compatible with the PS5. ASUS  also includes a DisplayPort 1.2 connection, so this monitor will be happy to tag teams and PCs. It’s surprising given the lack of support for a 120Hz refresh and the lack of HDR capability either. But again, most so-called HDR monitors cannot display HDR images. It is a good monitor for ps5.
